The photographs displayed in this gallery were taken between 2016 and 2024. Most are landscapes, but some focus on people and their cultures. Some were taken in visible light and some with a camera converted to incorporate various parts of the infrared spectrum.
I have presented the photographs in slideshow format so that you can see a lot in a short period of time. Two of the entries are books I have made, one dealing with the early stage of the COVID pandemic as experienced in Maine and the other more personal since it relates to a place I have known since I was 6 weeks old in 1946.
I welcome suggestions, comments and criticism through direct email or through the Contact section of this webpage.
If you are interested in acquiring one or more of these photographs for personal or other use, I am happy to talk with you about the terms and conditions of the sale or licensing. If you would like a print in a particular medium (e.g., paper, metal, acrylic, or glass), I can make recommendations and, if you are interested, arrange for production through Printique (https://www.printique.com/), which is my favorite source for printing my photographs given the quality of color reproduction and the array of presentations available.
A COVID-19 Photographic Journal of Maine During the Early Months of the Pandemic
There is text in this book, which is available for purchase on Amazon, that moves from page to page rather slowly (wish I could slow further but not possible on this website. Taking the time to carefully examine and think about the photographs may allow you to summon your own memories of this crucial time in our history, perhaps not wonderful memories, but important ones nevertheless, ones we should not try to forget. HINT: you have to read the signs and other writing that were photographed to get the whole picture—so to speak.
